Writing Prompts

Standard

With NaNoWriMo coming up, you may want to participate but be lacking an idea.  A great way to get the creative juices flowing is to look for writing prompts that speak to you.  It can lead to a short story that just gets the ideas brewing or it can be extended into a full length novel. There’s nothing wrong with starting with an idea that didn’t originate with you, so long as you expand on it and make it your own.  Lots of people re-write classics with their own twist on things.

Go to the great Google machine and type in writing prompts to get a plethora (don’t you love that word?) of links to follow so you can find one that intrigues you. If you’re looking to just start writing on a daily basis, writing.com has many forums that offer daily writing prompts.  Try a few and get the added bonus of others on the site commenting on your work.

Being the helpful gal that I am, I’m going to link some Halloween related prompts here for you folks to peruse.
